Description

Van Houtte French Vanilla has the delicate flavor of vanilla in a rich, smooth coffee. One taste and you'll understand why the 'experts' call this light roasted coffee a classic.
The Keurig single-cup brewing system uses a special packaging for coffee, tea and hot cocoa called K-Cup portion packs or "K-Cups". Each K-Cup is an airtight, mini-brewer that locks out oxygen, light, moisture and humidity while locking in freshness and flavor. Simply insert the no mess K-Cup into the brewer and hit the brew button for a fresh-brewed, perfect cup of coffee or tea in under a minute.

The Van Houtte French Vanilla is a substantial, creamy, somewhat nutty cup. I much prefer it to Gloria Jeans (though I like some of their other flavored coffees. GJ's FV is also weaker. Timothy's is a bit stronger than GJ's, but lacks the complexity of the VH cup.

A sample of these Van Houtte "French Vanilla K-Cups" were included with my Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System and it was fairly disappointing to me. This seems to be a "hit-or-miss" flavor since there are so many positive reviews and a scattering of those who, like me, don't like it.

When made on the "Large Cup" setting, the French Vanilla flavor was weak and slightly artificial tasting. It isn't really bad or undrinkable, but I will not be buying this flavor in the future.

I received two of these in a sampler package I had ordered through Keurig.com I made one cup, added my Coffeemate and Splenda...and...EWW! It was so bad I poured the rest down the sink and threw away the other K-Cup. I will not be ordering this variety EVER.

I really enjoy flavored coffees so when we opened the 12 pod sample pack that came with our new Keurig machine, I was excited to find a sample k cup of Van Houtte's French Vanilla. It ended up being one of the best flavors we had an opportunity to try!

Van Houtte's French Vanilla is not quite as good as some of the french vanilla coffees I've had fresh brewed at local coffee shops, but it isn't too far off either. It's a very mild, but flavorful coffee with a smooth finish and no bitter aftertaste. I don't like extra dark coffees with lots of acidity, so of that's more your cup of tea, so to speak, this blend isn't for you.

I will definitely be picking up more of this blend and if you're in the market for a french vanilla flavored coffee k up for your Keurig brewer, this one is an excellent choice.
