A must-have deployment item Sep 11, 2010
By D. Stanley
"Nemo"
I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and I have this foregrip attached to my M4. Having used this item in several ground engagements I can say without a doubt that it is an invaluable piece of equipment. The ability to place the grip at 45 degrees while on patrol so your wrist doesn't tire, 90 degrees while in the prone so you can force it against a barrier for stability and 0 degrees to be placed flat on top of a wall has been greatly appreciated. I have dragged this thing through mud and rivers, banged it against walls and rocks and also utilized the ambidexterous pressure switch inserts and battery compartment. Everyone in my platoon wants on and I would highly recommend it to anyone about to deploy. It holds up under stress and gives you the versitility to wage a ground battle effectively.

Great value for a tactical foregrip Sep 12, 2009
By JMart I received this yesterday and was very excited to install it on my AK-47. Fortunately for me, I didn't have the same problem as the first reviewer whose foregrip had warped. Mine arrived in perfect shape and slid directly on the picatinny rail. It comes with the allen wrench needed to tighten the bolt to prevent it from sliding.
The product description mentions it is an adjustable 5 position foregrip. The positions are (pretend foregrip is the hour hand on a clock): 3, 5:30, 6, 7:30, and 9 o'clock. The easy to press button lock seems to work great. 2 of these positions are wasted if you have additional railing to the front with a light, bipod, bayonet, or whatever else installed. Personally, 3 and 6 o' clock are plenty for me. There is approximately an 1/8 inch "wiggle" room in each position. This shouldn't represent any problems since a foregrip should be gripped tightly to steady your aim- thus eliminating the "wiggle"!
The battery/tool compartment cap screws on and off with ease. The cap has a 1 inch spring attached to keep batteries from sliding inside the handle. It looks as if it would be easy to remove. The compartment has a 5/8 inch diameter and 3 inches deep. Hopefully that will give you an idea of what it is able to store.
The only possible con- for this price range- could possibly be size. If you have limited space on your rails, lemme tell you....this will take up 6 spaces on it. You only need one rail slot to install it tight, but if you have a small rail system- you'll be out of room!

Folding Foregrip Jan 09, 2011
By William R. Ortmayer This foregrip at first glance seems to good to be true. For the price it is outstanding, but this handle has a faulty design. Mine was loose on the rail and would not tighten. I read many reviews on several sites, and most writers complained about the same problem. Only a few said that the grip was tight on their rails. Everyone wanted to blame the slight variations in rail width. I thought this was very odd and took a closer look at the handle.
Rail mounts for scope rings or accessories have two parts; a mounting block, and a clamping plate that tightens with a screw. Notice this handle is one-piece. It does not clamp; therefore, it does not tighten. You will have to be lucky enough to have a rail that happens be the correct width or put up with loose handle. Some tried to shim with poor results.
I decided to saw off one side and use this piece as the clamp. Do not cut the side with the imbedded nut. By removing the bolt and using a hacksaw, I made a vertical cut, and then cleaned up the edges and surfaces with a file. The width of the saw blade removes enough material to make the piece clamp perfectly. The handle material is very hard. Take your time and make an accurate cut. It now clamps tightly and works great!
The remaining common review complaint was the difficult unscewing the bottom of the handle to access the extra battery storage compartment. It is sealed with a rubber O-ring. Lubricate it with plumber's silicone grease, and you will not have a problem.
I rated this product low because of the faulty design. If you are willing to take the time to apply the fix that I described, this handle is top notch!

UTG Foregrip Aug 25, 2009
By Leith Tussing For the price this foregrip has lots of nice features and feels very solid in your hand. The battery compartment and pressure areas were nice additions for this price range.
I have one major issue with the one I received. The bolt that clamps it in place on the rail was threaded through and tightened which has apparently over time caused the plastic that goes over the rail to warp inwards. So this foregrip will not actual fit on the rail of any of my guns. I'll probably need to take a heat gun to it and slowly heat the plastic and expand it back to it's original width to get it to actually fit anything.

Great price, poor mounting configuration Aug 12, 2010
By Kevin The price is good, the mounting method sucks. But if you keep tightening it, it works. Usually when you get something for a picatinny rail, there is something that slides back and forth that "clamps" down on the rail, this is just a piece of plastic that kinda conforms to the rail as you tighten it down, but eventually, it did tighten up (I felt like I was going to break it.) The mount itself is pretty cool, the compartment on the bottom is made to be able to open it with a dime if you can't grip it, and it has a nice seal on it. Like everyone else said, it wiggles a little bit in every position, but it doesn't bother me. I have yet to use the slot for the pressure switch, but I will for sure use it, it's nice to have them on the grip like that. I was worried that it would be uncomfortable with the switch plate things on there, but they are almost flush with the handle, so you can really barely feel them.
The only thing that I was disappointed about was the mounting method.
