5Great game but they need to work out the kinks  May 29, 2010 By jukeboxhero788
UFC 2010 for ps3 has potential to be the greatest MMA game ever. The only reason I say it is not the greatest game yet is because there are several bugs. It is very hard to get a fight online and the career mode has some problems, including your stats decaying too quickly, fatigue not really playing as much of a factor as it should be, and opponents getting too tough too quickly. Some of the ufc fighters also need a little tweaking but as soon as the developers get a patch update out there, and I am confident they will, this will be the best MMA game ever. Despite these current problems, I also want to address its successes. The graphics are UNBELIEVABLE, every fighter looks completely real. And the realism doesn't stop there, every fighter in the game has fighting styles and abilities that are just like the real fighters. There are also all kinds of new features like the ability to make and play your own pay per view which is so fun if get some friends to play through it and the other gameplay modes that ensure you will never get bored of this game. So all in all, I would highly recommend this game if your a fan of the UFC although would recomend you wait until they get a solid patch update out there so you can enjoy it to its fullest.

3Great game, Impossible to Submit  Jan 28, 2011 By B. Heath
This is a great game, with visible damage to your character and your opponent, for instance, if you repeatedly kick your opponent in the ribs, his ribs will get red, then purple, and eventually look almost black from bruising, this also relates to how damaged the area is. If you repeatedly strike the rib area for example, you can break their ribs and get "daze" them so that you can land very powerful strikes to the head and body. You can even get a knock out if you do indeed break their ribs, and while they are dazed, strike them repeatedly in the ribs.

With all of that said, like almost all fighting games of this type, the grappeling and submission gameplay is not super great. It is IMPOSSIBLE to submit a CPU opponent. By impossible I mean, I had the game in begginner difficultly, had the opponents life bar in the far red, grappeled him, got into several dominant positions relitively easy, as I had nearly full green life bar, and every time I initiated a submission he would get out. I tried arm bar, Kamura, even a rear naked choke back mount top while I was full health, he nearly none. It is IMPOSSIBLE to submit CPU in this game, and yet it appears that the CPU can submit you at anytime they choose, no matter how better off your stamina and life bar is, no matter how fast or furious you spin the analog stick. It is the go to move when the computer decides you have won enough.

The Stand up and Ground and Pound are amazing and great fun, but don't bother trying to do anyting involving submission, you will fail.

4Great Game  May 27, 2010 By rise1289
I thought it was a great game, I found the career mode fun, however it gets increasingly difficult in the higher ranked fights. Just thought submissions were very challenging to get out of and usually my fighter is gassed by the 2nd escape even with top stamina...
overall good game,

4Great for new fans, masterful for expert fans, plain hard knuckle fun.  Jan 24, 2011 By Ryan Stokowski
A new, barley updated sports title to refresh fans of the previous entry's shortcomings. My thoughts exactly when I saw the demo of this title available for play, enquiring only to differ from the many wrestling games played in my youth. Having little knowledge of mixed martial arts, the UFC or any fighter in/outside the ring, my predetermined thoughts were nothing more than a button masher enjoyable for a few fights. A title that captures my full attention with great presentation, style and a flawless control system deserves my hard earned money, the honor of accomplishing that with a simple demo is held by few.

A twelve year spanning career mode only offers a Create-a-Fighter challenger the chance to hold the gold but does a great job of simulating the journey from unknown to champion, with a strong custom skill class, attire and fighter modifications. A huge roaster of real fighters across five different weight classes waits at startup, throwing them into the cage with exhibition matches, title defense, title (capture) mode, tournament and Ultimate Fights, which recreates the best fights in UFC history, or gives the chance to change them. Online only offers exhibition or tournament play between players with custom UFC/create a fighter rules, leaving the UFC selected fighter possibly destroyed by a highly skilled CAF. A brand new game comes packed with a code for online play; a used copy will cost roughly an extra $5 for online fighting.

The fights appear just like the sport that inspired it. Fighters appear weak or tired with increasing body damage and a few fists to the head will leave a cut for blood to drip onto shoulders, bodies and the mat. Fighters are limited to competition in their respective weight classes, height or reach don't play a much of a factor due to the feel of balance between each fighter, never knowing when you might get stunned or knocked onto the mat makes engaging play. Graphics and sound look great in presentation to make this title look more like the actual sport. The control scheme parallels those in recent boxing games with the left stick acting for fighter movement and right as takedown or submissions. The controls remain the same when fighters hit the mat but as any true fan will know that's a whole different game in the struggle to stay victorious, hunter or hunted can quickly be toppled for the win.

Plenty can be found for anyone in the various modes or only exhibition matches. The excellent, responsive controls that can lead to easy upset/defeat is the meat on the hook reeled in by near life like capture/presentation of the sport. The demo did a great job of setting up the game with much more in the full version. Anybody looking for a never ending title with different character selections and match outcomes or an engaging sports/fighting title should step in the octagon.

Last Words: B+, easy to pickup & fun to master, an easy title that you can lose a few hours in, not many of these titles exist anymore.

5Superior To 2009 In Every Way!!  Dec 04, 2010 By RomerauxRockz
UFC Undisputed 2010 is in EVERY way better than its predesessor, and I was really pleased with my purchase! :)

The game features over 110 UFC fighters from each weightclass, with the PS3 version featuring another four exclusive fighters, taking the total up to about 115 fighters, featuring greats like Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Chuck Lidell, Rampage Jackson, and many more, including the video game debut of underground fight phenomenon Kimbo Slice. The graphics in this game are really good. I was blown away by the main menu itsef it looked so good! The fighters look great, but I don't really see a difference from last year in fighters. This time around there are about 8 or 10 different arenas to choose from, which is awsome compared to 2009's two or three. The gameplay is pretty much the same as last year, except a few new features like a sway system, allowing you to dodge attacks and counter, and a few new fighting styles. I like to stick to the stand up punching and kicking game, because clinching and submissions are a little too complicated. It's frustrating because I can never ever succesfully submit an opponent, but once im locked in the match is pretty much over, so I advise players to level up their fighters submission defense stats as high as they can. Career Mode is much more better than last year, with a character voice over this time around, and different cutscenes. Your career can only last for a certain amount of time before your fighter is basically forced to retire, but it should still serve for a substantial amount of gameplay still. Online play has been enhanced to where you now can make or join an online fight camp where just as it states, you either create or join someones fight camp, train, and fight under their banner, and ascend the ranks. It's pretty cool, but be warned, you can only play online if you have the access code which can only be used once. If you buy this game used, then you can buy the code for 5$ on Playstation Network, but its worth the cool new features. There are a few more game modes like Title Mode, and a tournament mode as well. Another PS3 exclusive is that the disc comes with 5 legendary UFC fights in there full entirety. They are all very entertaining if you haven't already seen them on Spike Tv. Overall UFC Undisputed 2010 is a great game and should be in everyones PS3 collection. 5/5.
