We've done our homework to recreate the famous Mai Tai of our restaurants, combining the flavors of oranges and almonds and formulating a mixture that stands up proudly to cubed or crushed ice.

We hadn't tried the Mai Tai mix in several years so we were pleased to find that quality of beverage produced is exactly as we remember it -- just be sure to use fresh, not bottled, lime juice for best results and Barbancourt rum if you can find it.
We don't care for the plastic bottle, which is why we didn't rate this product 5-stars. Would much prefer glass, but this is an excellent product to keep handy among your entertaining supplies for the holidays. A Trader Vic's Mai Tai provides a quick and refreshing trip to the tropics without the expense!

Great mix but don't forget to read the small print on the back of the bottle that instructs you to squeeze in fresh lime juice. I use half as much as indicated and find it to be just perfect. Better than any mix you can buy at your local grocery/liquor store.

To my taste buds, Trader Vic's is the one and only premade mix to buy. As a kid my dad used to make me a "virgin" Mai Tai with this mix and when I became of legal drinking age adding the rum posed a welcomed addition. I've tried other brands but they are swill. Of course nothing beats a freshly made one in Hawaii (like at Roy's) but Trader Vic's is a close second, especially uplifting on the cold and rainy days here in the Pacific Northwest.

Since getting to Trader Vic's might prove to be impossible sometimes, and sometimes in snowy weather, you need to have a tropical drink to take your mind off the snow, the Mai Tai Mix is a great godsend. It's the best out of the Mai Tai mixes out there, but doesn't compare to a fresh one. However, in an effort to thoroughly review the mix, I tried it with rum, bourbon and white wine (at different times) and it made for a smooth, sweet, tropical drink. It's great to take your mind off your troubles or bad weather. I highly recommend picking up the mix, even if it's to make virgin drinks for the kids. The only downside is that you'll find yourself reordering this. Don't forget the lime!
