I first purchased this tea as I felt like I needed to do a cleanse but wanted to do it naturally. Like another reviewer when I first tasted this tea I was a bit put off even though I love almonds, it just really didn't taste like tea to me. Anyway, on days when I felt particularly sluggish I would have a cup or two of this tea and immediately noticed a difference in my overall pep. Bottom line, I went to my local Whole Foods today to buy another canister of this tea and they were out, so here I am buying it on amazon. It's become a tea I can't live without. :)

This tea has great flavor and I loved it. However, I was unaware that I had a milk thistle allergy until after I was drinking it. If you have abdominal pain after drinking this tea, you should probably avoid any products containing milk thistle, including this tea. Otherwise, enjoy!

When I first opened the can, I worried that the negative reviews were right. The tea smells quite unpleasant. However, after I brewed it, it was wonderfully relaxing with a mild almond flavor. I haven't drank it enough to know if the "get clean" part is even remotely true, but in general I buy these teas because I like the taste and the placebo effect - "get happy" does, indeed, lift my mood, but whether it's due to the ingredients or the power of suggestion I couldn't say.

I have 'used' this tea as a warm and healthful beverage when I have been under stress and concerned about my health and digestion. It has served me well in that capacity. Lately I have shared the tea with my mom, who finds that the "get clean" aspect seems to be working to detoxify her body, possibly due to build-up from daily medications. Other herbal teas have not had the same beneficial effect.

I have enjoyed this tea for years now... a few times a week, my husband and I drink it before bed time and wake up feeling so much healthier and have a much better internal system. It's great to bring along in a ziplock bag when you travel as well, ask for warm water on the airplane and enjoy this tea on an overnight flight to fight some "stomach" jet lag. Highly recommended for a gentle "pick me up cleans" mixed with a hectic life style. Don't be afraid of the other taste reviews, never noticed it tastes like almond, then again.. I add a teaspoon of honey and a splash of almond milk and it becomes the perfect warm comfort cup. Love it!
