Good price Jun 01, 2010
By Tyler Duerdan This wrench is for removing the castle nut on an AR15. Other multi-purpose wrenches I priced were in the $45-75 range. While the other wrenches can do other jobs that I may need to perform from time to time, for $7 this wrench is well-made and does the job fine.
This wrench is helpful if you are looking to replace the stock, buffer tube extension, add a sling plate, or perform a number of other modifications.
Note: As with tightening anything, be careful not to overtighten the castle nut as the indentions in the castle nut can be fairly easily spread apart.

Simple excellent & compact tool you can even bring to the range... Feb 04, 2011

Nothing more to add to this. Very SIMPLE tool. Easily fits in the ammo can or field/range bag in case your buffer tube ring goes loose. The ONLY complaint here is that I have seen this go for about $6-$7 each, which is how much I paid for a half dozen of them in early 2010. I wouldn't pay more than that, plus $5 to ship (if no free shipping). So buyer beware on Amazon if the retailer sells it for more than that. I'd look elsewhere.

Do not buy if you have a S&W M&P 15 Sport! Jan 26, 2012
By J. Thomas Do not buy if you have a S&W M&P 15 Sport!
I wish someone would of noted this before I ordered it and marred up my butt stock ring!
Don't order it! It does not fit the slots correctly and will cause bad scratches if you attempt to use it thinking that's how it's supposed to fit.

Scratched my S&W M&P 15 Stock Nov 08, 2010
By B. Long This appears to be a very nice and sturdy tool. However, it didn't fit my Smith and Wesson M&P 15. It scratched up the threads on my stock as well as scratched the stock nut. It seems the wrench is not set wide enough for the S&W M&P 15. Be warned. If it actually fit my gun, I would have given it five stars for its nice and solid build. It may fit your gun but be warned if you have a S&W AR-15 (.223).

Not for a true Mil Spec Castle Nut Nov 07, 2011
By Chief This wrench will not fit a true Mil Spec Castle nut. The points are too large. I saw no reason to take a grinder to a new tool. It does appear to be well made and may fit after market nuts. I returned this product and found a OEM Mil Spec issue wrench for $3.00 at a local military surplus store.
