5Swagman J-Craddle  Apr 09, 2010 By P. Walser
Works great. Very easy to load and unload kayak. Holds kayak better than flat on rack. A part was broken when received, but I called the manufacturer and they sent a new part for free the next day. Very happy with the price and performance. Just as good as Thule or Yakima.

5Superior to Thule  Sep 28, 2010 By Gr8ful_k "Gr8ful ken"
Very pleased with these. They cradle both of my kayaks more securely than my Thule. The bracket is attached to the cradle with 3/8" bolts rather than the hollow 1/4" rivets Thule uses. Bracket attaches to the bars with 3/8 bolts, 1/4" on the Thule. They are even easier to attach to and seem more secure on Thule load bars than Thule's own product does. The tie down straps porvided by thule are better than the one here, but these are sufficient.

4Swagman Racks  Jul 22, 2010 By David S. Olsten
Great product, great price. Fast shipping. Highly recommend. Only drawback is it would be helpful if there were loops or screw eyes on the top of the cradle to secure the ropes. They tend to fall once you get the kayak on the vehicle.

5Very well built, good price.  Aug 05, 2010 By eric43s
Very high quality. Rack is sturdy and was easy to install. There is foam or rubber anywhere that the kayak would touch. The straps even have pieces of cloth that cover the buckles so they won't scratch the boat.

3okay, but wish I'd have spent the extra money on Yakimas  Nov 06, 2011 By Thomas W. Hutchison
I thought I'd save 20 or 30 bucks by purchasing this item rather than another set of Yakima J racks. Since I now have one set of each, I can compare.
--These are durable, thick metal. But very heavy.
--The hardware was not suitable for my Yakima crossbars, so I had to spend another 10 bucks on hardware.
--BIG NEGATIVE: The bolts and nuts are not rust-proof. So if you are using these around salt water, you'll need to replace them with stainless bolts.
--Also, some of the plastic coating is peeling off the metal, after just two seasons.

Next time, in fact next spring, I'm going to replace them with Yakimas. Should have done that in the first place.
The Yakimas are much lighter, plenty durable, and it takes 1/3 as long to mount them on my rack. My Yakimas are 5 years old and look newer.
