Great chisel! Safe hand guard! Efficient tool. Nov 12, 2009
By Jimmy K. This chisel is very well designed and forged. Heavy, solid feel and molded to fit your hands [even when wearing gloves]. The hand guard has saved me from several potentially excruciating moments, as impact smudges on the rubber guard will attest to. I've used it to split bricks and flagstone and it works very well. The wide edge makes chiseling jobs quicker by giving you extra length to your cutting edge. It comes with a nice cover for the chisel edge to keep this from colliding with other tools in your toolbox. Be sure to familiarize yourself with how to use a mason chisel... you can't just wail away at it like a beast [like I did the first time]. [...]

good chisel Jul 04, 2010
By tom should be more space between the striking area and handguard and the handguard should be a little thicker but overall satsfied and have yet to see a better design elsewhere

The Chice of Professionals Jul 01, 2010
By Bix Barrington
"Happy Camper"
We are laying a meandering flagstone path along the south side of historic Fort Mason Gardens in San Francisco. To shape the stones I chose this Stanley Masonry chisel and it was a good pick. It has performed perfectly and we are now ready to set the stones. I highly recommend this product.
Excellent chisel. Feb 28, 2012
By Matthew Michael Caron Used this and a 4lb sledge to make short work of a tile floor. Nice and wide, easy to get underneath the tile and break it up. The hand guard saves your thumb if your aim isn't as good as you'd hope.
Does the Job! Sep 19, 2011
By Richard J. Blanford Does the job well. The handle is large enough so that you dont hammer your fingers. It is also built well.
