This product is used in my motorhome and diesel truck. Here in the deep South with heat and humidity it is necessary to protect from algae growth - a real problem in motorhome engines. I believe in this strongly and Sta-Bil produces a great gas engine product that I use also.

None of the local stores carried this item. I have used another of this company's products before. I'm totally satisfied. Shortly after I ordered it through amazon 2 local stores decided to carry it, and learned the moral is - "He who hesitates has lost a sale"!

I use STA-BIL Diesel formula in my TDI because otherwise the vehicle runs erratically, misfiring as often as not, getting poor mileage. The product calls for one ounce per ten gallons of fuel, but that mixture is too weak; the misfiring, etc., continues. My vehicle performs best with double that amount of Sta-Bil 22254 additive. To learn the right mix required two quart bottles of the formula and much experimenting, with two or more tanks full of each experimental mixture. After twenty or twenty-one tanks of fuel, the engine now seems to rarely (yet still sometimes) misfire. The varying degrees of misfiring seems to come from the radical variations in how much biodiesel is mixed into the diesel retail markets offer, with none of them specifying just how much. Thank your congressional reps for creating yet another legal ethical loophole through which professional deceivers happily leap.
