4Solid and Speedy...  Sep 12, 2010 By J. Darknell "MutantPixel"
Constellation class drives are much pricier that their regular counterparts, but in this instance I was building a server, and data protection was paramount. When your data is at stake, its stupid to buy cheap drives for the most important part of the PC --your data! The extra features help to reduce false positives, and the energy savings make the server less expensive to run in the long run. Drives arrived extremely well packed and all 6 drives dropped right in without an issue. Very fast RAID performance. Happy with these drives. If they all live out their warranty, I'll have gotten more than my moneys worth.

4Excellent Drive so far  Aug 26, 2010 By Stefan Roemer
Bought two of those to run in my Synology DS1010+ NAS. So far the drives perform very well. The larger buffer (64MB) and the higher rotation speed (7200rpm) are noticeable. The only thing that keeps me on my toe's are that the drives if not idle continuously run at higher temperature than my old drives. Bought them from Amazon in OEM packaging. No complaint here. Excellent protection upon arrival.

5High performance HD for RAID and servers  Jul 05, 2011 By Tech Walker
High performance and reliable. Worth the price if you need build a high performance RAID system or for servers. You may not need it for desktops or low end server.

Note: do an extensive test (e.g., using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics extended test) before using it, especially use it as a stand alone disk. You will be amazed of disks failed to pass this type of test for large capacity disk ( > 1 TB), even for high quality disk like this one.

5Enterprise level drives, reasonable price and performance  Nov 07, 2011 By kannibul
Not a whole lot to say about these. They work with a HP P410 RAID Controller, w/ 5.12 firmware. I have 4 of these in a single RAID5 Array. Not a lick of trouble, but I don't expect any either.

They do use a bit of power, but, these, in my HP Microserver, draws around 75w idle. Probably would do better if the Controller would support spin-down, but, since I don't use this server much, I've configured it to use Wake On LAN, and setup to automatically shutdown after 1hr of being idle. Maybe that'll test the spin-up cycling of these drives...but I figure they'll be good for it.

5High-Quality Enterprise-Grade 2TB Drive  May 11, 2011 By gkverne
I have two of these running in a NAS. They have been in service for a month and have zero S.M.A.R.T. issues so far. We'll see how they hold up over time but so far they are fast, relatively cool, and are humming along just fine.
