Royal Purple oil is majestic May 30, 2010
By Russell E. Riel Yes, the product arrived as promised on time. No shipping snags and despite my own hesitance about buying a five gallon "pail" of motor oil, it all occurred just fine. Amazing. If you want royal purple, this is the way to go. low cost and no shipping charges "added on": how can you beat it. Its pretty hard to get royal purple at $7.24 a quart. Give these guys a try, you'll be happy. VTY, Mr. R.
Using Synthetic Motor oil in Diesel Pickup Apr 16, 2011
By Thomas Q. Sullivan Montana has extreme weather. I use synthetic oil for it's more consistant viscosity in all tempeture conditions. Synthetic oil has better lubrication quality than petro oils. My crankcase runs cooler on synthetic oil. Most synthetics aren't made for diesel applications.
worth the dollars Apr 05, 2011
By Justin D. Garziano Used this oil in my Ford 7.3 with a slide in camper on the back. 5,000 miles driven. No loss of oil. Vehicle started and ran well. Toss up between Amsoil and Royal Purple. Make your own choice but Royal Purple does not make an oil filter for the 7.3. Extended drain intervals are good but you have to change your oil filter to extend. K&N were recommended by Royal Purple. Amsoil makes a filter so there is no inconvenience if you are traveling. All in all, it seemed to work well in my truck.

Royal Purple 15w-40 not as it seems Apr 16, 2011
By trarmour Royal Purple 15w-40 diesel oil is suppose to be a multi viscosity oil however it acts like a pure straight weight. When the cold engine is just started at about 40 degrees outside you get too much oil pressure like 80 PSI. When the engine is warm on the highway the pressure drops below 30 PSI. This means it truly acts like a straight weight oil and not a 15w-40. I changed oil only after about 500 miles on it because I didn't like the high pressure when the engine was cold and the low pressure at highway speeds. I put in Castrol Techion 15w-40 and I get 65 PSI with the engine cold and 57 to 60 PSI on the highway with a warm engine. 30 PSI higher with a hot engine on the highway than with the "magical" Royal Purple. Royal Purple oil is also drastically over priced as well. I won't recommend their Diesel oil for sure after my experience with it. Further more there was absolutely no difference in mileage or horsepower as Royal Purple claims. I'm done with the "magical" Royal Purple diesel oil. JR
