Filled with whimsical, imaginative, nostalgic illustrations Jun 18, 2010
By Midwest Book Review "Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink" is a charming episode in the "Pinkalicious" series which includes "Pinkalicious," Purplicious," "Goldalicious," and more. Pinkalicious, a spunky, resourceful young entrepreneur, decides she will earn money to buy pink bubble gum balls by making and selling pink lemonade, on a hot day. Deciding she needs no help from her mother, Pinkalicious jumbles together her first pitcher of pink lemonade, using some unusual ingredients just because of their color (beets?). When her brother Peter pronounces it "chewy!" she decides to sell some to Mr. Peabody. He is less adventurous than Peter, announcing, "It's definitely missing something...either that or it has too much of something else!" Many little misadventures later, Mommy offers to help make a second batch of pink lemonade and this time the only pink ingredient added to the lemons, sugar and water is strawberries. Guess what? It tastes great! Pinkalicious succeeds in her bubble gum business venture and shares her winnings with Peter, not quite equally, but close. "Pinkalicious" is filled with whimsical, imaginative, nostalgic illustrations and should completely engage young readers ages 3-7. Its upbeat message of positive personal empowerment through creativity and the value of play and learning to share are valuable thought-nuggets.

The best book out of the series Nov 30, 2010

Let me start off by saying I am not a big fan of the original Pinkalicious book. My daughter got it as a gift about a year ago and I found the little girl to be rude (sticking her tongue at her mother and disobeying her parents) and the message in the book was not a good one (green vegetables are gross, etc). But my daughter for some reason, loved the book illlustrations, so I would read her the book by editing it myself.
We were at the bookstore and my daughter saw this book and she really wanted it, so I read it real quick to decide if we are taking it home with us or not. This book is great! very cute! Pinkalicious wants to buy gumballs so she decides she is going to make and sell lemonade to raise the money. And guess what color the lemonade? Of course pink! She uses everything pink in the fridge (beets, pink frosting, pink grapefruit and watermelon)!!!! She ends up having to make a second batch with just strawberries (thanks to her mom). But best of all she shares half of the gumballs she bought with her little brother Peter who helped her set up the lemondae stand.
Adorable story and the illustrations are beautiful. I recommend it!

We love Pinkalicious! Jun 03, 2010

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoy all the Pinkalicious books we've acquired. The illustrations are very clever. The stories are just the right length for my 4-year-old daughter's attention span.
This one reminded me of my own childhood, making concoctions in the kitchen. Loved the face on her first customer.
Miss Kann knows her audience. We look forward to future adventures with Pinkalicious.

We read this at least 3X a week Oct 13, 2010
By new mom My kids love this story. As with most of the Pinkalicious series, it teaches that if things don't work out as planned but you don't have to end up unhappy. Lovely lessons!
