A good quality housing, but be aware you will need a wiring mod. Jan 14, 2009
By wreathandcrest

These lamp housings are a very nice conversion for a four-headlight car especially. The lenses are thick, unfaceted glass and the plastic reflector housings are plated inside and out. The boot fits snugly and once on seems to keep moisture out just fine.
BUT, be aware that 9003/H4 bulbs (the type you will need to use in these housings) have a different connector terminal arrangement than your standard 4656 sealed beam lamps. I didn't know this at first, and my headlights behaved very bizarre until I did some research.
You will either need to make a three-prong pigtail adapter or change the location of the pins in your car's headlamp connector. The 9003/H4's terminal arrangement is a mirror image of the old sealed-beam arrangement. On the new bulb, you need to redirect the wiring as follows:
4656 terminal arrangement (looking at back of bulb, pins facing you) Left vertical: Low beam Top horizontal: High beam Right vertical: Common (this pin is angled on systems with only 1 headlamp per side of the vehicle).
9003/H4 terminal arrangement (again, looking at back of bulb) Left vertical: Common Top horizontal: Low beam Right vertical: High beam
I recommend using Candlepower bulbs, since they were of such great help in helping me sort out this technical issue.

2 day delivery & Contents of 4656 head lamp conversion "kit" Oct 06, 2009
By Robert Sauer I ordered the pilot H4 4656 headlamp conversion kit on 9-30-09 and paid extra for 2 day delivery. I received the package on 10-5-09, not in 2 day's. In the package was a box containing 2 Pilot lens/reflector units and 2 rubber like seals, nothing else. Writing on the box stated it contained a "kit". This kit is to replace a sealed beam, light producing headlamp. Being a "kit", implies that it has the necessary parts to replace the sealed beam unit and produce light when energized. The "kit" did not have H4 bulbs or wire harness. The wire harness is necessary because the H4 bulb and the sealed beam have different location of the contact blades, ie; you can't just plug the vehicle wire harness onto the H4 bulb. There was no mention, by Amazon, at anytime, that H4 bulb's and wire harness were not included. I now have 2 pieces of glass and seal's, but, no light.

Cheap Lowgrade Plastic from China Dec 27, 2010
By The Mechanic It is not obvious from the sales description, but these lightweight, plastic chinese lamp housings do NOT include bulbs. That is to say, lightbulbs are not included, not even correspondingly cheap low grade chinese bulbs. Which is probably okay, since the intended application is to use them with cheap chinese HID conversion bulbs. Rather than this product, I would recommend spending an extra couple dollars on the HELLA headlamp conversion housings, as the HELLA are a far better quality.

Love the headlights buying my second pair Mar 03, 2010
By Sgt Schaefer Darren Reading the reviews, I am confused. The bulbs I used with mine on my 1988 Chevy Blazer is identical to the 4656 bulb. No adapter needed. Also have to say, it says kit, cuz it is 2 light fixtures. Kit does not imply it comes with the bulbs.
nevertheless, here to give a review. These housing are awesome, the hold the bulb, they are brighter than stock and you can use whatever H4 bulb you like, Myself I have a HID conversion kit, (Kit meaning 2 bulbs, and the wiring harness and the transformer) (had to do say that). Talk about bright, I dont even use the high beams anymore no need.
The housings do what they are designed to do house the bulb in place of the weaker stock sealed beam...

Good for the price, could have been better Oct 06, 2009

I used the in my 85 Subaru Brat.
First, they are much brighter than the extra vision headlight I had. The light has a good pattern, lots of light up front, like a driving light, then tapers off as it goes out like regular headlights.
Next, you need to buy your own bulbs for about 10$ each. I also needed to change the wiring, the plug is the same but the wires connect to different terminals on the new light. If you want to go back to your old lights, you have to change the wiring back. It would have been nice if they included a diagram of how to hook up the wires, but since there is only 3 wires, it dosent take to long to just figure it out.
Last, these were a little thinner than my old headlights, so when I tightened the housing back down, these lights would move around just a bit.
For about the same price as buying these and bulbs separately you can get a set with bulbs and wiring adapter, next time I might do that.
