I would like to start by saying that I am a very athletic person who exercises six days a week. I am approximately 8% body fat. I had my body fat measured by calipers and other BMI devices and most scales seem to vary by 1-2 % always around 8%-9%. I decided that I wanted to drop my body fat percentage even further and wanted a convenient way to track my progress. The ozeri scale seemed like it would do the job. I looked at the reviews which all said that the scale was great looking but never mentioned the accuracy.
I went out on a limb and decided to purchase the scale. When it arrived I plugged in all my information about age, height and gender and exciting jumped on the scale to see a body fat percentage of 18%. Terribly inaccurate although the weight seemed to be right. I even had my friends who had their body fat measured by DEXA scan and water immersion try out the scale and again the scale was off by at least 10-15 % but accurate about the weight.
I called ozeri multiple times and they did not get back to me until I filed and a-z claim with amazon. They said my scale was defective and sent me a new scale. I again has the same inaccurate results. I believe that there product is inherently flawed. The product looks nice and if all you want is your body weight then it is just fine. I think most of the people who buys such a scale would have some interest in all the readings especially % body fat. This is just a poor product in a nice encasing!!!!!!

This is a great bathroom scale. Weight is measured to the nearest tenth of a pound and is quite accurate. The scale is fairly easy to set up and will provide additional measurements for: % body fat; % water composition; % muscle composition and bone ratio. While these measurements have greater fluctuation and less accuracy than the weight measurement, they are useful as trend indicators. I run marathons and I find the % water composition to be very helpful and predictive of my hydration levels. The scale design is sleek and low to the floor surface. This is the best scale I've purchased.

About 25% of the reviews on this item were 3 stars or less and frankly I don't get it.
Like the overwhelming majority of reviewers this is one great scale. It appeaars to be dead on accurate, large easy to read display and great looks.
It sits solidly on my marble floor (no tilting or rocking) with a good sized platform to stand on. The auto on / off feature works flawlessly. I was not that interested in the BMI & other stats that the scale provides but since it has those features I took a few extra minutes to READ the set-up instructions and found the data interesting. I have no idea how accurate they are but they gave me a view into things other than weight alone that are important measurement to my overall health. Seeing a numerical value that shows me just how far out of whack my reading are, compared to normal is another incentive to change my ways and weighs (pun intended).
I am very happy about my purchase and highly recommend this scale.
Two things to remember; Use it with bare feet for the other features to work and READ & FOLLOW the set-up instructions to program the scale for your personal profile if you intend to use the other features.
UPDATE - ONE MONTH LATER
It is working well, still very accurate - the BMI info seems to work though at this point I don't log it as I do weight numbers because you need to lose more than 4 or 5 pounds to make a big change to those readings.
Still think this is a great scale and just ordered another as a gift for my son.

I never thought I would feel compelled to review a scale. I mean - it's a scale right? yes and no. It is the MOST accurate home-use body scale I have used. It's hands down the most modern looking and functioning scale I have used. The best feature on this scale, the touch sensitive buttons for setting it up. The static buttons are integrated into the surface right below the large blue display. One light touch to the glass surface is all it takes to modify settings. No prodding or poking at plastic or recessed buttons. The supplied instructions are clear and direct so read them - all. The initial setup of this scale works as long as you; step on the scale right after you have entered your personal settings (it waits 20~30 seconds for you to step on). It will take all of your initial readings then show all of them to you three times before it blanks off. From then on it will automatically select the correct user and settings based on weight. It presents your results to you three times. This scale works every time for my wife and I.
There is always a minus with today's electronics and this scale is no exception.
The body fat measure is suspect. It get's my wife's measurements correct when compared to calipers. On the flip side, my body fat seems to be a mystery for this master of miss-measure. The calipers tell me four-teen percent but this scale tells me I'm dreaming and should go run another 20 miles screaming twenty to twenty-two percent body fat. It hasn't matched my caliper readings once. My bone density is reasonable when compared to my wife. She has great bones.
After everything is weighed and taken into consideration we would, without any hesitation, purchase another one of these scales and settle for comparing bones to bones and calipers to calipers.
It's a beautiful scale and a much thinner/sleeker device than it looks.

I ordered this scale to replace my old Tanita model which had to be programmed at each weighing in order to measure body fat.
I was excited about all the features on this scale, and assumed it would be reasonably accurate in its measurements of fat, water and bone.
Like several others who have complained, my body fat percentage increased by 7% on this scale. Because my fat % is now so much higher than on my other scale, my water weight is also off. So essentially, the "special" features are worthless.
The one star I gave this item is for a pretty accurate weight reading. Other than that, I am completely disappointed. I would send it back, but unfortunately threw away the packaging.
