ADD PINK RIBBONS AND IT IS NOT "JUST FOR MEN." Nov 07, 2010
By Wood Wren
"Wren"
I have one of these packs. It is a man's pack. I am a girl; a smallish girl at that. I feel absolutely mortified walking around with a "men's" pack on my back. If the stares and snide remarks do not stop I plan to tie pink ribbons to the various clips, spray the thing down with Channel and possibly attach some sort of cute little furry stuffed animal to the top. But other than the gender problem, I do love this thing.
The pack itself does not weigh all that much. There are scads of pockets and pouches, clips and hangers along with zippers and clippers; neat and useful stuff all.
The pack is very well made. I tend to haul all kinds of stuff constantly, some if it quite heavy and I have hand no problem with tearing or stretching.
The mobile phone pocket is great and is handy. It does indeed hold my laptop and protects it well. The padded storage compartment for the glasses dose indeed work...I have dumped this pack right on that compartment several times and my sunglasses have survived, which is good as they actually cost more than the pack. The inner compartments are well organized and hold a lot of "stuff."
The pack straps are easily adjustable and the entire thing, fully loaded with all my useless stuff is extremely comfortable.
The little clippie thingy for the lock is nice, although I never use it...but I like knowing I could if I wanted to...as it stands, I could never remember a lock combination and I am sure to loose any key I would lug about.
The entire pack looks great; it is extremely attractive...in a "manly sort of way," grunt, grunt.
You might consider this to be sort of pricy, but you got to remember that you get what you pay for.
Good and useful pack...looks good, is extremely serviceable and the price is good here in Amazon Land.
Perhaps if I let my hair grow longer and ceased wearing combat boots and covered a couple of my tattoos ....hmmm.

Great bag but... Oct 10, 2010
By J. Forman This bag is aptly named... almost The storage is very good including separate pouches for cell phones, iPods, or other digital devices to include up to a 17" laptop (although it might be harder to get to the laptop from the side access zipper if it is bigger than my 15" Macbook). There's even a hard pouch for sunglasses to keep them from being damaged. There are 2 reason I rated his bag 4 stars instead of 5. 1st off, there is not any protection from inclement weather (ie. a rain cover). My Lowepro slingshot bag that I use for photography has a built-in rain cover and you would think that a bag that costs as much as this Oakley bag one would include one as well. Secondly, the metal buckle is annoyingly loud when it is not being used. It jangles very audibly and this a distraction in class or at the library, although it is functional along with the chest strap. My old laptop bag did not have either and it dug into my shoulders, especially when riding my motorcycle.

The perfect travel bag Nov 17, 2011
By Sully First I will say I got my bag through Oakley Standard Issue website for $99 so it was a great deal. I travel a lot for business, mainly 3-4 day trips and since I got this bag I no longer check bags for travel. I am writing this review while I am sitting in the Hotel filling it back up getting ready to fly back home. For this 3 day trip I packed in:
My Dell E6510 15.6", charging cable, Ipad with charger, Bose headset (fits perfect in the sunglass holder on top), Dress pants, dress shirt, running shoes, baseball hat, 5xT-shirts, 3 pairs of socks, 2 boxershorts, 16 CD's, 16 3x5 pocket guides about 1/4inch thick each, magazine, Oakley glasses, My trusty travel coffee mug, and a small bag with travel approved bodywash, toothpaste, facewash, toothbrush, deoderant and electric razor.
I actually had room for an extra shirt and shotglass I picked up at the local Harley shop and still have a little room.
It's heavy but it works.

Great Laptop/Business Backpack Jan 17, 2012
By Richard T. Bagin After ripping through several "name-brand" laptop backpacks, I finally decided to spend the money on this monster and I could not be happier. I travel weekly, often on planes, and this thing looks and feels like it's brand new after 18 months of abuse. I load it up for almost every trip and it is always comfortable on my back even during long walks through airports. It is a little large for stowage under airplane seats, but I have not yet found a seat that it will not fit under. If it ever fails, I will most likely buy another one until someone can prove they build a superior bag.

Awesome backpack, only one flaw but easily fixed... Feb 08, 2012
By The Man Pros:
I had been looking for a replacement bag to replace a High Sierra backpack I have owned and used almost every day for the past 7+ years. I read all the reviews on this bag and I am glad I went with it. It has a heavy gauge construction exterior and the zippers, snaps and buckles are of excellent quality, I should get many years of service from this backpack. It has a ton of room inside and lots of extra pockets to hold all your favorite gadgets including a padded laptop section. I have personally had over 50lbs. in the pack and it was still comfortable to carry. The straps are wide and padded for your comfort. There are several adjustable straps that allow you to tailor fit this bag to your body type. All I can say is "Awesome" glad I went with this.
Now the Cons:
A little bit pricey, but after you get it you will see why. Top notch materials and craftsmanship. This bag should easily outlast my last one.
The hard storage pocket in the top flap of the bag is a little heavier material and has a tendency to make the bag fall over when it is less than 1/3 full. What I did is make a wire cage frame inside the bag out of 1/8" steel rod (Purchased at Lowes for less than $10) that went from corner to corner and around the top flap on the inside of the bag and now it stand completely upright just like the picture shows, even when its completely empty. I think they should take my idea and incorporate it inside the bag. The cage didn't even add 1/2 lb. to the total weight and it in no way hindered the bags performance, in fact it looks like it belongs there. I was able to tuck it in the creases; it's almost invisible unless you really look for it.
All in all I love it!!!!!!!!
