5works fabulously  Aug 21, 2008 By domestic shopaholic
Great product for the price! I was a little concerned that it might not be large enough for some of the skeins I bought, but it worked for all of them - from my worsted Malabrigo yarns to the fine strains from Knit Picks. The mechanism winds smoothly every time. I'm very happy with it.

5Well worth every Penny  Jan 18, 2009 By John Leis
I have seen many a Swift and this is by far the most affordable. The craftsmanship reminds me of the days when people stood behind their work and would issue refunds if their work were found wanting. I would recomend this piece to anyone wanting a strong, hardworking swift.

5Wooden Swift Yarn Winder  Jun 22, 2008 By N. Folsom
After trying my local yarn shop's swift and ball winder, I knew I had to save up for such a setup. It's okay to wind by hand, but the swift (with a ball winder) is absolutely wonderful.

This one was much less expensive than elsewhere but it is good quality. I don't use it heavily, so I don't know how it would hold up with daily use, but it's certainly adequate for me!

I'm still using this swift! I'm still not a heavy user, but it's holding up well, and the cost was well worth it, IMO. (I bought it at a time when it was hard to justify.)

5The Little Swift Who Could!  Jul 10, 2008 By M. R. Jones
Swift made in China? Out of wood? Based on a Swedish design? I think it is great! Works as well as my former swift did 30 years ago. This is a functional tool, not an objet d'art. It has no options; it is a swift, period! You clamp it on the table, put a skein of yarn on, and go! Who came up with the title, "Swift Yarn Winder Medium" It is an UNWINDER, guys, and it does it. I don't think you can do it with class, manner, or elan: you just do it.

4Great Device!  Apr 04, 2010 By Dr JCL
I got this for my wife because she is an avid knitter and always brings home yarn skeins that need rolling up. And I was the holder of all those skeins as she prepared the yarn. When she told me about this amazing device that would take the place of my arms or the back of a chair, I went for it. She loves it. It works smoothly and easily and after we figured out how to work it and found something to attach it to, it has had regular use. She really has no complaints other than it doesn't attach to really thick tables so you need to find something thin to attach it to. The price was great - much less than at any yarn shop. We love this item and it entertains the cat.
