5Great knee pads for combative martial arts  Sep 18, 2008 By Diana De Avila "MS Gkygrl"
I use these knee pads to do Combat Hapkido and they have saved my knees from hard impact in some of my takedowns. As a martial artist, I highly recommend this set.

Durable, comfortble and protective. That's what matters most!

5protective knee pads  Aug 19, 2011 By William E. Bender "TIVO addict"
Amazon is erroneously refering to this product (knee pads) as a toy in this rating dialog.

I am 74 years old and it is not a toy. It is very valuable protection for my knees since I recently had knee surgery. It really prvents injury to the knees while in the kneeling position, e.g. scrubing floors, gardening, etc. The pads are very easy to use and are very effective.

If using the value to price ratio for evaluation, it is a great value for a low price.

4A good quality stuff  Mar 03, 2010 By Ravi Chinnathambi "CEO, Seyyone Medical Transcription Services"
I have purchased a couple of knee braces from other countries and brands.
But the one from Mueller seems to be an excellent one. Very comfortable and looks nice on the knees too.

2didn't stand up to my needs  Feb 12, 2012 By Rami H. Khouri "Ramihk"
I bought these kneepads for use in wrestling and Brazillian Jiujitsu. I was attracted by the price and the fact that it came as a pair.

I used them once, to do a warm up of about 30 penetration shots infront of a mirror in an aerobics room at a gold's gym. The padding never recovered, and now there's a spot right in the center of the pad with almost no padding on it. I cannot recommend this item for grapplers and I don't think they would stand up to the rigors of it. Your knees are extremely important, a few extra dollars to get something designed specifically for that kind of impact and use will be well worth it. That's what I ended up doing...

some time later, I decided to go back and use these for a different purpose. I put them on under my jeans when I was installing some hard wood floors at my house. I must say that even though one was damaged they did a pretty good job saving my knees from the discomfort of the hard floors. However, at prolonged use the back of the pad started to irritate the back of my knee. The back of the pad is just an elastic sleeve, and doesn't have any special design to conform to a bending knee. Most kneepads you get from hardware stores don't much of a 'backside' to them, and wrestling kneepads also have some design to address this issue.

So there you have it. I wouldn't recommend this for grappling sports, but perhaps if you're going to do a little work on your knees or if you play a game like volleyball where you're standing most of the time and need protection against occasional/accidental knees touching the court, but otherwise...get a kneepad dedicated for whatever activity you're doing. You're more likely to stick with whatever activity you do if you have the right tools, and no one wants to get injured. You're worth the investment.

1Cut off my circulation  Apr 27, 2011 By LS
These are not one size fits all. I needed the knee pads for protection of my knees while doing pilates on the floor. They cut off the circulation in my legs.
