5Consider getting a half size or even full size bigger  Apr 01, 2010 By S. Terry "satpro74"
I previously owned a pair of the first version of this shoe, the blast, and just received the pair I ordered of this second version of the same shoe. The only difference I see is the price and the tread is a bit different. There are grooves in the spikes of these and the first version does not have that. As far as the shoe itself, it is very lightweight and comfortable, almost like a running shoe. I can't comment on the traction of this new version yet but the first version had good enough traction for almost any situation, except wet grass, which I slipped on a couple of times, but that could have happened with other cleats too. The cut of this shoe is a bit more narrow toward the toe, and if you are like me and your second toe is longer than your big toe then it might start to press up against the front of the shoe. I normally wear a 10.5 in other shoes and bought that size in the first version of this shoe and wore them for a season and just dealt with that feeling, but it started to be too much to endure for another season so I just ordered a pair of 11.5 in this version, which as I said is pretty much the same except the tread is a bit different, and they feel great. They still fit tight enough and now my toes have room to move and don't feel all scrunched up against the front. I would definitely recommend this shoe, just make sure you get the right size that feels comfortable.

5Most Comfortable Cleats  Apr 10, 2010 By Robert Wilson "Whitie"
These cleats have performed very well in all conditions. Much more comfortable than my last several pair of cleats. I'm no longer experiencing the toe and foot problems. The many points of contact with the ground really help cushion the foot stress during hard cuts. Have had no complaints about the quality of construction. Looked long and hard for just the right cleats and I'm very happy Mizuno 9-Spike Blast 2.

4Great Multipurpose Cleat  Apr 30, 2011 By Paladin71
I have used Mizuno running shoes for the past several years. They've been great. I'm playing softball this year and decided to try their cleats. Thus far I am very pleased. I did have return them once because they do not run any close to your actual size. Definitely order 1 full size up. I normally wear either an 11 or 11.5 depending on the shoe. I ended up with a 12 in this cleat. They are very comfortable and evenly distribute weight. They have great traction in both infield and outfield. I have not had a chance to try them in mud although we have had an absolute ton or rain and tornados here. All the games keep getting canceled! I would imagine that they will still be good but expect the mud to get caught in the smaller "turf" cleats.

4Turf tractor  Apr 12, 2011 By M. Hunter
Snug fit, firm footbed, ankle grasp, spiky-soled, well-constructed; unremarkable arch support and little cushioning or "bounce"; overall should manage turf-time well (long throw/chase frisbee).
