5Mirka Sanding Discs  Dec 05, 2010 By D. Stockwell
Sanding your wood projects is one of the drudge aspects of woodworking, so good sandpaper is a must. As a woodworker building custom furniture, I go through a lot of sanding disks. I decided to try these Mirka discs because I love shopping on Amazon, they seemed like a good deal, and reviews were favorable. They have proved to be excellent. They last, they cut effectively, and they simply are an all-around good deal. And contrary to one review, they stick to the pad just fine. I think he needs a new pad on his sander. I mentioned the discs to my wife, and she was amazed that I would get so excited by something as "stupid" as a sanding disc. She just doesn't understand.

5These ARE a great value!  Aug 08, 2004 By Scott Pointon "Former Marine, Librarian, Woodworker, Homebrewer"
First of all I have to say that the reason why I happen to be writing this review is because I was on Amazon ordering another box of these sanding discs! There is no higher praise in my book than a return customer!

Now for the review: I have to agree with the other positive reviews and say that I have long been a fan of these Mirka sanding disks. I am a home woodworker whose projects range from DIY stuff around the house, to refinishing, to building fine furniture projects. I have been using these discs for years (in every grit from 80 to 220) and could not be more pleased with the smooth surfaces they produce with my rather inexpensive sander.

I completely agree with the assessment that although these are not the absolute best hook and loop discs on the market, they have performed every task I have asked of them. Overall, I would give this product an A- for quality/performance, and an A+ for value.

1Bad disks  Jul 03, 2010 By Dave
The reviews said the Mirka discs lasted a long time. They would if I could get them to stay on the sander. I have used many different brands of discs and have never had this problem before. The velcro on the back seems to be very thin and seems to stay on the sander about 15 to 20 min. If you take one off to change grit, it won't stay on at all if you try to use it again. Bad product.

5Worth the wait, if you have to wait for them.  Apr 05, 2007 By Jeffrey Smith
These discs are well constructed. The paper backing is the thickest that I have seen and they don't seem to wear out as fast as other discs. I had to wait a month to get them though.

4Good sandpaper  Jun 22, 2000
I am working on a wood kayak from CLC boats. I ordered this paper before in 5 different grits from 80 to 320. It is working fine and doing a good job on material removal when used with a Bosch Random Orbital sander. I don't what 5 star sandpaper would do that this doesn't. I haven't had any problems with the grit coming of the paper early. Using it for fiberglass epoxy is working well. I have had a bit of paper loading but I think it is due to the epoxy not the paper. I would reccomend the paper and am back buying another box of 80 and 120 grits.
