4Some interesting changes from the 2003 version  Mar 14, 2007 By B. J. Barney III "Wheelzup"
I've been using Publisher since the 98 version came out with mixed results until I understood it quirks and what it was good at doing. I think this time Microsoft got it right or at least close. There are a couple of things that they've added to make it easier to use. When you open the program you have a pane on the right side now that actually shows you an image of what you have been working on, thus finding your work is much easier. The best thing they did that I like is when it comes to labels, postcards, and business cards. They have added the Avery stock numbers to each product so when it comes time to print them you don't have to try and set up your page getting margins right and the proper fit in these type of projects, it's done for you and you can see that they fit your stock using the print preview function. Another change is with the clip art, now it will ask you if you want it to search their (Microsoft) online catalog of clipart saving a lot of hard drive space but you still have the option to download the clip-art if you wish. Everything else is there including the edit story in MS Word and that even works with Word 2003. In fact if you purchase the 2007 version and it finds your old version you will be given the option to remove the 2003 version then install the 2007 version or you can install it so you'll have the use of both versions in case you don't like what the 2007 version offers up. About the only thing that hasn't changed is the activation Microsoft insists you do or after 30 days you'll no longer be able to use the software except to look at a project but no editing is allowed, that's the reason for just 4 stars other then that it has gotten better then the 2003 version. I'm glad that I decided to purchase Publisher 2007 and I'll more then likely end up getting the entire suite for Office 2007.

5LOVE it, Can't beat it for the price, or any price I think!  Mar 29, 2007 By Carol "kepela"
It isn't perfect, I'd like to see a few things made easier for make web page designs, and some of the new features don't work as good as they say, but I LOVE this program. It has tons of templates and you can download more for free. It's really easy to make cards, newsletters, pages for books, web sites, invitations... you name it. I can insert full resolution photos and it will reduce the resolution for web pages as needed. It lets me add my own html code easily and the new navigation bar design features are excellent. It prints beautifully on all my 5 different types of printer. I made an alphabet book for my grandson and it printed the pages, front and back, perfectly. I took them out of the printer and stapled them, didn't have to sort anything. The print quality is excellent. The file sizes are much smaller than previous version and you even have the option to optimize all you photos and clip art to reduce file size even more. I think this is a great took for the computer at any price, no matter if you're a novice or expert.

5Top Drawer Publishing Software  Aug 07, 2007 By Robert E. Allen "Wondering Wanderer"
Since Publisher 1.0 I have used it for all of my publishing needs. Each edition just seems to get better and better. Some folks think it's hard to learn and that may be somewhat true for the first hour or two after you begin to work with it - but after that it's like riding a bicycle, once you know how you'll always know. The thing that I have always loved about MS Publisher is the ease of controlling exactly what I want, where I want it. I wouldn't consider another publishing program unless someone showed me some amazing new features.
