3Will not close with jumbo / extra large eggs  Mar 15, 2009 By Pastry Princess
The package insert that came with mine says it can accommodate only standard sized eggs: 68g or 6cm maximum (end to end). Larger eggs fit in the cavities narrow end down, but you cannot put the cover on and "lock" it without breaking them.

5You won't walk on eggshells any longer  Jan 14, 2009 By J. Riquelme "Monkihead"
Finally a well designed armored egg carrier. Our side-by-side refrigerator challenges just about any storage requirements and oddly shaped containers. So my wife and I went on a quest to find an egg storage container we could safely place in our fridge in any fashion without causing injury to the eggs inside. The grocery store cartons are fine if you always place your eggs flatly, but if you need to store them in any other angle, this product is your solution. It is robustly designed with thick enough plastic. Each cradle firmly holds the egg from tossing around inside the container. The lid has a gasket which prevents any ruptured egg from spilling out in the fridge. The lid is not permanently hinged, and easily unhooks for washing. The lid has 3 independent snaps so there is no bowing of the lid, thus maintaining a tight seal. I bought one to test it out and now have ordered another two. I haven't used it for this yet, but it should perform well in camping coolers for picnics and such.

5NOT CRACKED UP!  Aug 30, 2008 By PJ VEGAS "PJ"
This is just the best egg storage container EVER!

This product is definitely a MUST HAVE and at what I think is a great price!

I bought a Lock & Lock breakfast set from QVC some time ago just for the egg storage container. Unfortunately I wasn't able to order a second egg storage container by itself. I'm so thrilled that I found it on Amazon even though I have to wait as it is unavailable at this time but I don't care. It is worth the wait.

I absolutely love all of the Lock & Lock products I have purchased anyway but if you've ever had to stack your egg cartons there are bound to be accidents. The material is hard enough to place other items on top of it without breaking the eggs inside, large enough to hold extra large eggs AND it's airtight!

You won't be disappointed.

5This thing is awesome.  Nov 04, 2008 By A Reader
Ever tried opening those ridiculous packages organic eggs come in?
Every time I attempt to open an organic egg crate, I break an egg.

I have this now. No broken eggs.

Much happier person. Hey. Organic eggs aren't cheap!

5fits jumbo eggs perfectly  Aug 21, 2009 By Pat
This case must have been redesigned with a higher lid, because, contrary to a couple other observations, it held a dozen jumbo eggs just fine. Lock & Lock containers are so excellent, that I'm glad to see Amazon carries them. I have kept brown sugar in one for months, and it stays as soft as new. Eggs tend to take on odors right through the shells, so I think this proven airtight property of Lock & Lock will be better than the original cardboard or styrofoam egg cartons.
