| | Description | International Financial Management is written based on two distinct parts: emphasis on the basics and emphasis on a managerial perspective. The emphasis on the basics will allow students to be left with a framework for analysis that will serve them well when they need to apply this material in their careers in the years ahead. The Fifth Edition never loses sight of the presentation that is teaching students how to make managerial decisions. The new edition is founded in the belief that the fundamental job of the financial manager is to maximize share-holder wealth. This belief permeates the decision-making process that is presented from cover to cover. International Financial Management has been completely updated with the most current data tables and statistics in the field today. | |

Step-by-step guide from the master Mar 10, 2002

This book set me up very nicely for a career in forex markets. Possibly the gentlest introduction to international finance, the book does not waste any time with implementation of the ideas, instead provides you with the requisite knowledge, and illustrative examples. I had the fortune of being taught the subject by the author (Dr. Eun), and so the book was fully utilized. However, other teachers would also find the book an ideal companion to course notes. In fact, the book is so well written, it seems like a tutorial. You cannot go wrong if you are using it for international finance courses. The book will also help you with preparation for the CFA charter examinations.

Excellent MBA-level text Jul 14, 2010
By Yujun Zhang This book is a required text for my International Financial Management class in my MBA study. It has good coverage, clear explanations of sophisticated concepts and models, and good organization of contents, an definitely excellent MBA-level text. It also includes some CFA level II problems at the end of some chapters.
Please note that this book is only suitable for those who are already familiar with Corporate Finance and Economics. Without such preliminary knowledge in mind, one may find it difficult to follow.
I read this book almost page by page during my class, which helped me understand the class's lecture notes. There are not many good texts on International Finance out there, this's a good one, especially good for serious study. And I know it was also used in Wharton School as the textbook for International Corporate Finance.

An excellent textbook on international finance Nov 02, 2000 This book has three major strengths compared to other textbooks in this field. #1: It is soundly based on FINANCE theories. Most other textbooks on international finance have more of an "international BUSINESS" taste. #2: It is more analytical than most others. #3: It is comprehensive yet very concise. This is a must-read in the field of international finance. It is particularly suitable for senior-level finance undergraduate and MBA students as well as finance professionals with an interest in investments.

Strewn with errors and outdated information Feb 22, 2010
By S. Adams The 5th edition, while published in 2009, still has problems referring to trades in 1987 in the current tense and tables from 1990 IMF reports. They discuss Deutschmark and Dutch guilder transactions as if they still exist. They have mutual fund graphs with 1977-1986 data. The power point slides have errors that do not tie to the examples from the text. The authors need to pay closer attention to updating, or hire someone else to do it for them. For a student, a lot of information needs updating. For an international finance instructor, there are better text choices elsewhere.
