I have found this book very easy to read and understand. Excellent questions and answers in the book. The important words explains in the Chapter. This will be a very beneficial accounting book.

I'm taking Financial Accounting at Harvard and we're using this book. The professor is - and I say this without exaggeration - worthless, so I rely on the textbook to get me through the homework, quizzes, and tests. I got a 94 on the midterm, and this textbook was my only resource, so I'm pleased with it. There are really helpful "Quick Check" questions to ensure that you understand the conceptual material, and lots of problems at the end of each chapter to help you apply the concepts to problems. The chapters are sectioned and organized in a logical manner. It's a dull topic, though, and the book can border on the pedantic at times. I'm 20 and I would say that the book is appropriate for advanced Juniors in high school to adults. It's meant for beginners to this field, so if you have experience with this subject matter, you might want to look elsewhere.

 No $55 access code, no electronic CD media, thin pages... Sep 24, 2010

The book did not include an access coder required for the accounting class... I have to shed another $55 dollars for only a 1 year, non-transferable access code... Required for the class... So I paid more for the book and access code than the total cost of the class in a local community college!
Another disappointment was that did not include any electronic media such a CD, something that most books nowadays include. The pages are thin pages, so it project through and breaks easy...
I cannot comment of the quality or effectiveness of the informatics, for I just finish with chapter 4, but so far I am not so impressed. But the other option was much worse... The school sells an unbinded (loose sheets) version of this book with access code for about $155. My feeling is that, if this book were not required for the class, I would have made way better purchase for the money. McGraw Hill, the publishing house, figure out how to make an extra fee which expire! No residual value.

I bought this book which was used-like new and i was so surprise that it was in excellent condition still in the plastic cover. It came just on time before my classes started just one week to be exact since i live outside of the US. If you need this book order it.
