Despite negative reviews, I bought this product knowing the return policy. Plugging it in, it charged my PSP for about 15 minutes, then died. Fortunately, it charged it enough for me to enable USB charging and was able to complete the process, but am returning the defective unit.
All this to say, don't buy this product.

Save your time - buy the authentic Sony replacement part Sep 26, 2010

I thought I was being smart trying to save some money on the generic version of the PSP AC adapter. It was received broken in the packaging (not a shipping issue). Save yourself the headache and just purchase the real thing from the get go. We purchased the authentic Sony AC adapter and it arrived in one piece and works great.

This is hardly a viable replacement for the original charger. It feels extremely flimsy and is not the same charger shown on the product page, but instead a generic charger. Additionally, the charger's package indicates it's intended for use with the PSP 2000/3000, and is not compatible with the original 1000 model.

I bought this so I could actually charge my PSP without using the USB fuction. The moment I plugged it into the wall one of the capacitors blew up. This item is rated 100-240 volts, but it cant even handle a 110v. It was a waste of money. I do not recommend wasting your money on it.

So the other day i found my psp while going through some boxes. However, i remembered giving the charger to a friend because i couldn't find the psp. Yesterday i ordered the product with one day shipping costing me more than i expected but i figured it'd be worth it to again play my psp. Today i awoke to find the charger at my door. When opened all seemed well til attempting to plug in the charger. The prongs in the brick were defective as were the prongs to plug the charger into an outlet. Needless to say i was extremely upset. I looked over the charger and noticed several flaws that it had coming from the vendor. It is poorly made and nowhere near what i had to spend on it. I AM VERY DIS-SATISFIED and it is sad i now have to go all the way out to Game Stop to purchase a reliable WORKING charger.
