A good product, not a great one. Oct 20, 2007
By David Bauchelle
"literal philosopher"
As a whole, this is a relatively solid little keyboard tray, with some fairly nice features. Front-to-back ribs under your keyboard keep it from sliding sideways. The included wrist rest is nicely comfortable, and covered in an attractive silver fabric that matches the mousepad area (which also slides conveniently out of the way). The main drawer slides are very good quality, solid-feeling and will probably last a good while. The cons: it IS plastic, and as such not as sturdy as a metal one would be. As result, the mouse pop-out tray is extremely flimsy-feeling. Also, it's mounted FAR below and to the right of where the keyboard sits, and that ends up feeling so un-ergonomic to me I've stopped using it. Furthermore, if you're mounting this under a counter with a limited amount of space, don't be fooled by the dimensions given that list "20 -7/8" wide: that is ONLY FOR THE TRAY. The mounting hardware sticks well outside of that, to a maximum of nearly 24-1/2". I had to modify it slightly to get it into my 24" space. Additionally, if you need to mount it so that the back of the pop-out mousetray clears the front lip of your counter, the front lip of the keyboard tray never completely recedes under; the last inch and a half or so will always stick out.

Sturdy and economical Feb 19, 2007
By H. Goldstein Although the tray is plastic the rails are metal and it seems sturdy. The product provides a reasonably firm surface. The installation was easy with a power screwdriver drill bit - there are a lot of wood screws to install as one would expect and sturdiness demands they go in all the way. The mouse tray slides out from beneath the keyboard tray and has a nice fabric pad on it rather than the rubbery stuff that degrades quickly.

For the money, it does the job. Apr 13, 2008

This keyboard drawer is definitely nothing special, but it does the job. The instructions are clear and you'll be able to install it quickly.
It's adjustable also, so it can be used with keyboards that are a little larger than standard sized keyboards. You will need a drill and a screwdriver to install it. Make sure you're putting it exactly where you want it, because you're putting holes in your desk.
The mousepad, as some reviewers have noted, is a little flimsy-feeling. It slides under the main keyboard drawer and it feels like you don't want to put a ton of weight on it (why you would, I don't know). There is also one of those big gel strips that goes under your wrists.
Overall, a decent product. Nothing spectacular.

OK with reservations Feb 10, 2008
By V. Sharpless Fellowes(R) Office Suites Underdesk Keyboard Drawer, 2 1/2H x 30 7/8W x 14 1/16D For a plastic structure, this is an exceptionally well built unit. The keyboard drawer works very smoothly and holds in the full open position well. I can see where you would get in trouble if you don't use the provided mount drilling template as the mounting holes have to be in exactly the right position for this to work right.
My reservation is the mouse platform. It is well designed as far as covering and spaciousness, but the roller guide(slide system)it uses makes the mouse pad a little flinsy. If the metal keyboard drawer slides had been incorporated in this application, it would have easily had normal office application.
Due to the mouse pad, I recommend home use only. Not even that if you tend to sleep on your mouse pad!

Wide keyboard drawer Aug 07, 2009
By Barbara Johnson I have a work at home job which sometimes requires me to enter data for many hours at a stretch. I had been working with my keyboard on the desk surface and finally decided my wrists needed help. This drawer has great mounting instructions and was easily installed. After using it for several weeks, I find three areas worth mentioning to others considering this product. First, the area that fits the keyboard is overly large and there is nothing to hold the keyboard from shifting around within the space. My keyboard tends to migrate to the back of the area. I wish there was some sort of slide bar adjustment to keep it to the front of the area. Second, the mouse platform is a little unsteady and I don't know how long it will last with the weight of my hand resting on the mouse for hours each day. Third, the width of the keyboard and the mouse platform is quite substantial so be sure to measure well to make sure your desk opening is adequate. Still, all things considered for the price I am satisfied and it is helping my wrists :)
