Features
  • Detects moving high-density objects using RF field-disturbance technology

  • Ideal for convertibles

Description

An effective vehicle intrusion sensor, this dual zone radar sensor detects moving high density objects using RF field disturbance technology. Ideal for convertibles or any application where zone-intrusion protection is desired. Protect your vehicle with an invisible sensing field which detects moving high-density objects (including people) near your car using Radio Frequency (RF) field disturbance technology. Ideal for convertibles, or any application where zone-intrusion protection is desired. Violation of the outer field can provoke siren chirps (or a WarnAway message from an optional voice module) while intrusion into the inner zone will trigger the systems siren.

5Perfect Security System Addition at a Great Price  Feb 12, 2009 By Bgon
Let me start by acknowledging Amazon for providing such a deal on the sensor. The manufacturer sells this sensor at $90. I was able to add three additional sensors (radar, tilt, glass) to my system for the price of one.

I added this to my Python 872 security system. After 20 minutes of testing the sensitivity levels, I set it up just as I wanted: I have it so it will warn when standing right next to the vehicle, and it will only arm if someone enters the car (I had the window rolled down while testing for the full alarm trigger). Adds a much welcomed ability to my Security/Remote Start System. Bam.

5Dual Zone Sensor  May 18, 2007 By Tech User "Tim"
Works very good. You can hide the sensor so it`s undetectable. I have a Jeep with a Soft Top. This sensor was perfect for interior protection.

5it works but hard to find sensitivity medium  Apr 07, 2009 By D. Morgan
it definitely works. dont get me wrong, but im still trying to find the medium where it just chirps when u walk by or up to the vehicle, & goes off if bumped. its set now to go off when bumped somewhat hard, & chirp if just pushed. its weird because its either too much or too little. the turning mechanisms are not that wide so you have to try again & again to find the sensitivity you want. or be blessed enough to find an alarm tech to install it & set the sensitivity perfect the first time... but it does the job!!

5Works great when properly adjusted.  Feb 27, 2012 By Dan
This is a must for any alarm system. Just the shock sensor alone won't give much protection. This way if someone is too nosy around your car it will do a few warning beeps and if they stay there the full alarm will go off.

But it has to be adjusted correctly!

Two things to remember when adjusting:

1. It takes 20-30 seconds to fully arm and expand the radar circle. So don't just arm and step right up to the car, wait until it's fully armed and then test the sensitivity.

2. After the warning has been triggered a few times, most DEI alarm systems lower the sensitivity to prevent false alarms. This makes adjusting nearly impossible. To "reset" the sensitivity, just turn the ignition on and off after every time you adjust the sensor.

Just keep those two things in mind because they're not mentioned in the manual. Other than that just follow the manual and you'll be good.

5Radar disturbance detector  Jul 22, 2010 By g73nnh
I put this detector on a Viper 350Plus alarm. It is very simple to plug in the connector plug. I did install the alarm myself and that was not real simple. The detector works great but is a little weak back at the rear doors on my full size Ford cargo van. The unit is mounted on the ceiling 1 foot behind the front dome light. It functions great from the side doors forward when the van is empty, when van has lots of cargo the sensitivity is less. I have it set to max level on warning and full alarm adjustments when in my driveway and turn detector off with three presses of the alarm button when setting alarm in parking lots. It will sense anyone approaching any door with a window in it. It does not detect through the sheet metal body.
