Love it. Jul 10, 2010
By Robert Speziale

We ordered the Culligan RDSH-C115 RainDisc Shower Head with Filter, and two additional WHR-140 filter cartridges and have been using it for about a week. The instructions say to remove the black rubber water saver if the flow is too low, which was the case with us. The filters are good for 10,000 gallons which I calculated as two showers a day for about 6 months. Since we removed the water saver, which seems to double the flow, I figure a filter should last about 3 months.
Installation was fairly simple. I removed the old shower head and left the old thin plumber's tape on the threads of the water pipe. I removed the six screws from the face of the shower head to open it. I removed the stickers from both sides of the filter cartridge and pressed it in to the shower head about 1/4 inch. I replaced the 6 screws and screwed the shower head on to the water pipe. When I ran the shower I felt the flow was not strong enough so I unscrewed the shower head from the pipe and (as per the instructions) pulled out the small black rubber water saver plug from the pipe end of the shower head (using a scissor). I screwed the shower head back onto the water pipe and tightened it with pliers.
The flow without the water saver is large and feels like a water stream from a large pipe. There's no needle like spray, just a soft large volume of water falling on you.
The chlorine remover really works. After just a couple of uses, skin and hair are noticeable softer and soap or shampoo seem to rinse more thoroughly and quickly. In summer the chlorine smell in our NJ hard water is quite pungent, and this removed it completely.

Happy with the product, but its plastic Nov 10, 2010
By Sammy7 Happy with the product. I have an automatic water pressure pump (switches on automatically when you open a tap or use any water outlet in the house). The pump combined with this rain shower head, makes for a great soaking shower without having the water pierce the skin.
Water stream flows evenly and comfortably, however like others have stated, to actually get an enjoyable shower, you would need to remove the black water saving rubber piece in the top of the shower head.
I can also confirm that the correct filter for this item is indeed Culligan WHR-140, which although in the picture listings on Amazon looks huge, it actually fits just right.
My only minor issue with it, and it is the reason for giving it 4-stars, is that it is made of chrome plated plastic and not Chrome as is stated in the product description on Amazon. This does not affect the showering experience, but if Im buying chrome, I expect to get Chrome, not 90% plastic and 5% Chrome.
I certainly reccomend this product.

NOT WORTH IT Mar 08, 2011
By William Gann This product claims to remove 97% of chlorine so I decided to try it. The tests were done with Extech CL200 Chlorine Meter. After installing filter, i let shower run for 7 minutes before taking test. The water coming out of the faucet without filter installed showed .38mg/liter of chlorine @ 87F. With filter installed i had .27mg/liter of chlorine @ 84F, which comes to 29% reduction in chlorine. My drinking water filter showed .01mg/liter of chlorine. This shower filter might do better with cold water (that's probably how it's been tested by manufacturer) but you probably don't want to take cold shower anyway. I'll try to test other shower filters but from what i read its hard to remove chlorine from hot water and some shower filters actually change free chlorine to a less active form(I don't know if its the case with this filter). If you want chlorine free shower, your only option is to install whole house filter.

Great Hair! Jun 15, 2011
By LA I love this product! We have no chlorine problem with my well water; however, we do have lots of minerals which leave my hair feeling awful. No matter which expensive products (clarifying shampoos, leave-in conditioners, believe me - EVERYTHING), I used on my hair, it still looked course and frizzy, I live in Connecticul and noticed that whenever I stayed over in Manhattan, my hair looked great....it dawned on me that the water really did make a difference in the texture of my hair. I was all set to install an expensive home filtering system when I decided to try the Culligan Raindisc and I am telling you that this is the best thing that has happened to my hair in years!
So, the Raindisc is not chrome and yes, the flow is not as strong as I am used to. I really don't care.....it does exactly what I bought it for - removing all the nonsense which prevents my hair from being easy-to-manage. This is a miracle for me.......thank you so much.

I dont know how I lived without it! Oct 09, 2010
By D. Stephens I live in a place where we have a high chlorine content in our water. After a while of living here, my skin started to get really itchy. This itch did not go away with the application of lotion or even by changing soaps. Around the time it started, I just so happened to go out of town for a weekend to a place that did not have a high chlorine conent in their water and noticed that the itching stopped. Upon this discovery, I decided to look into buying a shower filter. After installing this model, the itching stopped and my skin feels less dry right out of the shower. I removed the black water saver and the flow is AMAZING!!! I would not trade this shower head for anything!!
