 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Oct 07, 2010

Don't waste your money! This is a User Manual not a Text Book, which usually ships for free when you buy the software! Also, it's for 2010 version, so next year it'll be worthless! The book is made from the cheapest quality paper, all diagrams are black and white (no colors.) About 90% of the pages are filled with useless snapshots from computer screen. Many pages are BLANK or have few lines! The book comes with two CD's for QuickBooks Pro 2010 (a student version.) so probably the price is paid for the software, so if you already have it then no need to pay again for it! You will also receive a spiral-bound rather than a paperback book as advertised. My advice to you: avoid this book and find a decent text book that explains the application and it's relation to Accounting principles.
And, to add insult to the injury, Amazon.com failed to inform potential buyers that the software that is shipped with the book, will work only for 148 days, starting from the product registration days! (this is time that Intuit decided to be more than enough for students to learn QuickBooks Pro 2010!) Buyer has to register within 30 days from installation, otherwise the software will NOT work! After the 148 days buyers will end up with a pile of pages that may worth a little more than an old newspaper.

This book was very hard to follow in some of the problems. I had a hard time reading and following the text. I feel this should be almost a 3 semester book not a 2 semester book. There is alot to read and understand in this book.

This textbook will walk you through step-by-step on how to use Quickbooks. It's great if you're new to using this software program. This book provides plenty of screenshots, so you could follow through with what the author is doing. But be mindful that there are a few inconsistencies with what the author say what to do or what is the correct answer and what the pictures show. I also found quite a bit of typos in the book, and I am only in Chapter 5. Seriously, what are siabilities (page 2.12)? The author probably should have hired a better editor!
This textbook comes with two CDs. One is the actual Quickbooks software, but it's only a Student Trial edition, so it will only work for 140 days once installed. And by the way, it's a one time installation, so if you don't have the Quickbooks software and thinking of buying a used book, you should really reconsidered buying a new one instead. And after you install the CD, please be aware that you must register the Quickbooks product, or the program will stop working in 30 days. Lame, I know. And the other CD contains the data files (All QBBs, I believe), so you could work along with the book.

I could not wait to get my hands on this textbook simply because I knew it would make accounting much easier. However, I was unsure of how easy it would be to learn the ins and outs of QB. Well, needless to say, this textbook has made everything seem easy! It breaks down every basic thing you need to know about the software. Any question you may have can be answered in this text. I would recommend this text to any accounting student or person who needs to learn QB. This is knowledge that is useful for just about any job.

I got the book in perfect time, the day before my class started. I was expecting it to be later than it was. Book was in perfect condition, and had the CD's in it that I needed with the book. Very Satisfied.
