| | Description | Students understand, or “get it”, right after a problem is demonstrated in class but often struggle to complete similar problems on their homework hours later. In order to ensure students don’t fall behind, Accounting provides its winning combination of student textbook features, study resources and online homework system that make up the Student Learning System. Overall, the Student Learning System works together to provide students with “I get it!” moments anytime, anywhere. Best Accounting book ever! Apr 17, 2009
By Scott J. Maddox If your Principles of Accounting I & II courses in college aren't using this book, your professors should be shot. University of Maryland uses an inferior book. Prince George's Community College uses this one. This book is essential for understanding the poorly written and almost ubiquitously used Intermediate Accounting book by Kieso. It is also great for using as a refresher for people like me that are studying for the CPA Exam. This book has these clear pages that show how transactions progress and how the financial statements interact with each other. Another cool thing about this book is that the lightbulb on the cover actually glows in the dark! This book is also used for some Managerial Accounting classes. That means some school use this book for 3 classes, talk about more bang for your buck!

Nice, but no where close to perfect. Oct 23, 2009
By Patrick L. Hardin
"Big Pat"
This book has pretty clear step by step instructions and easy to find and follow examples. It is very useful when trying to do the problems in the book. The big downside is that this book is full of typos, missing information, and incorrect math. Each week my class finds something else that the book has messed up on. If you are a teacher looking to possibly use this book, I wouldn't, at least for this edition.

One of the best beginner's Accounting book (financial and managerial) Aug 08, 2011
By Gary Fang Each chapter is explained clearly and in detail; a very good read to understand accounting. There are many examples given in the book to help you understand the topic and every example is explained thoroughly. At the end of each chapter, there are many problems and each problem is referenced to a specific topic in the chapter, so you can go to that section and read it if you don't know how to do the problem. There might be a few typos and math errors, but who cares.
Recommended for self-learning about accounting or if you use it for a class, you are in great hands. In summary, a clearly explained and detailed book that will help you learn the basics of financial and managerial accounting.
5/5 stars. Won't disappoint.

Very good Accounting book for Beginners Jan 19, 2010
By Alex Trung Huynh

I used this book, 8th edition, for my Principles of Accounting I & II. It is clearly-written and well-explained the topic matter. Just read the textbook and do several problems, you will certainly pass any tests with an A.
There are several errors in this edition as well, mainly in the example illustrations. However, it does not bother you much as long as you understand the main concept.
Great book in good condition Oct 17, 2011
By Ely This book is great for amateur accounting. When I purchased this book it came in reasonable time and good condition. I was really satisfied with the material and am looking forward to expanding my horizons with this book being my first stepping stone.
