Go baby go! Mar 05, 2010
By A. Chia Very fast processor - I can't believe that this is the kind of performance you can get for the money these days! Four cores does wonders for multi tasking, 95W model keeps the power consumption and heat down. haven't tried OCing it yet, but there is almost no need to!

Budget Builders Dream Jun 11, 2010
By SuperCourier While pricing out parts from a suggested build (go to maximumpc daht calm and search $647 pc) for my wife, I was pleasantly surprised to see this quad core selling at the same price as the dual core originally suggested. Yes, the updated article suggests a 620 quad, but it was dual first. This is even faster than the 620 in that list now, and the price is the same.
When you consider the fact that these chips are so crazily upgradeable due to the chipset they work with, it will soon dawn on you that this bargain can become another upgrade wonder with the hexacore Phenom II X6 1090T in the future if you choose. Prices will only drop here, folks. The stock cooler that comes with it is plenty effective for non-overclockers. Installation was simple for even a newb like me with the enclosed instructions.
I can't believe my wife, who only wanted to spend a few hundred bucks on a computer, is driving a quad core for a fraction of what I spent on a vastly inferior build years ago...the hollowed out corpse of that computer enshrining her new baby. GET YOURSELF THIS BARGAIN IF YOU VALUE A PRICE TO FEATURES RATIO IN YOUR FAVOR.

Best value on the market to date! Mar 06, 2010

You won't get any more bang for your buck in any other processor. Processor very stable, stays very cool (below 36 C) at full load with stock fan after overclocking to 3.122 Ghz.

The Best Price/Performance Ratio Mar 04, 2010

AMD still gives you the best price/performance ratio. The Athlon II X4 630 is a nice cool running chip that makes for a great primary or backup system. I'm using the Asus Crosshair III board with an AMD Phenom X4 965. The second box I built as a hot standby uses the same MOBO with the 630 at a lower cost, but is still very capable.
