Effective, if Overpriced (and Not Really as Advertised) May 19, 2011
By Angela D. Mitchell
"Paranoid PR"
I'm always a person who prefers a tilted keyboard stand, and I love a gel wrist rest, so this product worked well for me on a basic level. My overall reactions varied, however, as follows:
* Price: Too High
The price is my single biggest peeve with the product. This stand just isn't worth the over-$30 purchase price, much less the (insane) $60 list price! It's just crazy stuff. We're talking about a slab of plastic with rubber feet and an attachable gel wristpad. The thing probably costs less than $3 to manufacture, so the idea that people should pay over $30 for this -- much less over $60 -- just doesn't work for me.
* Assembly: Easy, but the Instructions are TERRIBLE
This keyboard stand is easy to assemble, just don't expect the directions to help you do so. This product featured some of the worst and most incoherent directions for assembly that I have ever seen. For one thing, the directions encompass assembly for several different models at once, offer little descriptive text, and the accompanying diagrams are just really bad.
The stand is easy to put together just by using common sense, so the directions actually made it harder. In assembling my own model, for instance, I had the hardest time simply figuring out which side of the plastic 'board' was top or bottom. This matters because of the installation of the rubber feet and gel pad -- all it would have taken were some clearer directions to identify those aspects. It's really frustrating when something simple actually becomes far more complex than it has to be.
Also, this stand is not really "tilt-adjustable." You have the option on assembly to choose small rubber feet or big rubber feet, resulting in a smaller or larger tilt angle. But once you make that choice, it's not really "adjustable." Just sayin'.
* Function
Once assembled, the stand works perfectly well. It's sturdy, slick, and the gel wristpad is really comfortable. The stand is oversized for my keyboard, so it looks like my keyboard is sitting in a 'tray' of sorts, but it works, and the tilt angle (I have it set at the highest) is comfortable.
* Nitpicks:
This is a decent keyboard stand, but I was irked by the fact that it is incredibly overpriced, the instructions are terrible, and by the inaccurate description. But it functions well, it's comfortable, and it is absolutely preferable to no stand at all.

I like it without a gel wrist rest Jun 16, 2011
By YUKARI The Gel Wrist Rest is soft and comfortable itself, but when I used it with a tilt for a while I started to have a pain in my arms and shoulder.
I have tried several different combination, and finally removed the Gel Wrist. Ironically, I feel the most comfortable with a tilt and without Gel Wrist Rest. Maybe because I am a small person and my hands are quite small.
I have been using it this way for 2 months and loving it.

Adjustable - Once May 19, 2011

The 3M Tilt-Adjustable Gel Wrist Rest Platform alters the angle of your computer keyboard for more ergonomic typing. The package comes with the sturdy plastic platform, anti-microbial gel wrist pad and a 2 sets of 3 rubber feet. Both the feet and the wrist rest attach to the platform via sticky double sided tape. You can decide between 5 and 10 degrees positive or negative incline, but make sure you are happy with your choice because you are then stuck with your decision. Actually, you can later decide to go from 5 to 10 degrees if you aren't happy angle, but you can't decide to go from a positive to negative incline.
I found the keyboard platform to be easy to set up and am using it 5 degrees positive. It feels durable and does not slip around on my wood desktop surface. Currently on it is my iMac's low-profile Apple Aluminum keyboard, and it is almost too small for the 3M unit. The wrist pad is comfortable, but raises my hands higher over the low keyboard than I would like. I also tested a Logitech K350 (Wave Design) and a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard. Both fit on the 3M Platform, but were a little too large and their already ergonomic designs pushed the keys back too far from the gel wrist pad. This product is optimal for standard sized keyboards and is not a good solution for everyone. Couple that with the extremely high price and I'm not overly thrilled with it. If it were truly adjustable after the initial set-up then I could perhaps justify the cost.
It works well enough with my iMac keyboard and does relieve some strain in my hands when using it, but the 3M Gel Wrist Rest Platform is not a product I will purchase again and only would recommend it to computer users with specific requirements.

A solid, sturdy accessory Apr 28, 2011
By Donna Since my day job as a programmer requires a lot of time spent at the keyboard, I'm always on the the look out for products that will alleviate chronic wrist and shoulder pain, and found the 3M Tilt-Adjustable Gel Wrist Rest Platform (WR420LE) to be a solid, sturdy accessory with a feel of durability, if a bit uncompromising.
The WR420LE was easy to setup, about 5 minutes:
-- 1. Option of where to place the wrist pad on the keyboard platform -- 2. Option of where to place the rubber feet under the keyboard platform -- 3. Option of whether to use the keyboard platform in a positive (raised at the top front) or negative (raised at the bottom) position.
I setup the WR420LE in the negative position with a slim Dell keyboard (17.5" x 5") and have been using it for three days. I found the wrist pad to be firm with right amount of softness for support and the platform stays in place with no movement. My shoulder hasn't had a twinge of pain but my right wrist, my mouse hand, started to ache the first day, making me wish I could adjust the height of the WR420LE but the height is not adjustable. Maybe in my case, the 3M Tilt-Adjustable Platform with the mouse pad would be a better fit.
I'd like to try the WR420LE in the positive position but the rubber feet are stuck so well that would mean getting new rubber feet as the ones currently in use would get destroyed on removal and the WR420LE didn't come with extra rubber feet.
I think this would have been a more versatile product, if I could have adjusted the platform's height to my preference by including different sized rubber feet because not everyone can adjust the height of their desk and chair, and if I also had the option to reverse the tilt position of the keyboard platform to figure out the best use of it for myself.
If your looking for a keyboard platform and require it to be durable and sturdy but don't need to make many adjustments once it's setup, the WR420LE would be ideal.
Frustrating Mar 15, 2012

I was very frustrated with this product because the little round legs which kept it at the necessary angle did not stay attached, nor did the wrist rest. The board itself felt flimsy and bent easily.
