Reuse ZIF Drive Feb 11, 2012
By Bart C I attempted to reformat and reuse the ZIF 30G PATA drive that was on my daughter's first generation Zune. This hard drive enclosure allowed me to reformat the disk and reinstall it in the Zune, however Microsoft's software would not reload. I have removed the drive and reformatted it so it can now being used as an external drive. The enclosure performed flawlessly. I would recommend it for any one wanting to use ZIF drives as an external drive for a PC or laptop.

It works, but it's cheap... Sep 21, 2010
By Anthony This little cheap thing does what it was intended to do. But it does feel exceedingly cheap. I took mine apart and just used the circuit board. I don't see a lot of need for the external case unless you plan to make a portable disc from an iPod hard drive or something. But if you do that, you'd want something that's not so cheap. In my case, I just wanted to get some files of the only laptop HD I had.
They work, but don't bother with the included screwdriver May 17, 2012
By BF These cases are good for the price, but don't count on using the included screwdriver when putting the case together. Its head doesn't quite get a good grip on the case's screws, so use your own small Philips screwdriver. The ribbon cable is pretty long, and you need to be careful not to crease it when stuffing it into the case with the drive and circuit board.
Works Great! May 03, 2012
By rami dahman I love this enclosure. I was a bit skeptical to buy this because of some bad reviews, but I'm glad I took the chance, because this is excellent. Many reviewers are giving this bad ratings because it "looks cheap" or "is made of cheap plastic." I personally do not care about how it looks, but I love how slick the middle of it is. It comes with a screwdriver to open the enclosure, a leather case, and the mini-usb cable to connect to it. As soon as I plugged it into my Windows 7 laptop, Windows downloaded a few drivers, and within seconds I was already able to view the file system of my old iPod Hard Drive. Sadly, the leather case didn't fit around the enclosure, but I don't really mind. It still works awesome. Buy this, it isn't expensive and it works great!
Great Product for the price! Jan 03, 2012
By NetAdmin98 I ordered this hard drive enclosure because I had a laptop with a ZIF drive that had corrupt OS files. I was able to pull all the data from drive and reload. I have since used it to get data off a dead iPod. Works great!
